Luggage

I'm trying to find some great luggage.  I want it to be light and tough.  Oh, and with 4 spinning wheels.  I don't know how I went for so long with just two wheels.  Four is just so much better. Most importantly, it has to be able to withstand the abuse of those dudes handling luggage at the airport.  I swear, I think they just beat the crap out of your luggage on purpose.  I've read the tags on some of the luggage that says even though they have a manufacturer's warranty, the piece aren't covered if they're damaged by a third party (i.e., the airport).

Then what happens if your luggage is damaged by the airport gorillas?  How do you proof that they beat the shit out of your $200 suitcase?

And here's another question: How do you prove TSA took stuff out of your checked bag when they perform a "random search" of your bag, hmmm?  I've even had my checked bag come back to me searched and with the WRONG lock put back on it!  Come on!!  Seriously?!?

So I'm looking around.  I have a sweet Heys brand carry-on that's considered their hybrid bag because it's a cross between soft side and hard.  So I've been scoping out their line even more.  I like the bold colors and designs that they have for their hard side suitcases, but will they come out unscathed and hole-free if they got bashed during handling?  I just keep picturing a my suitcase on the baggage carousel with a huge hole and my clothes just dangling.

Someone recommends Volcom.

I currently have Swiss Army brand for my checked bag.  It's nice.  Four wheels that spin and roll smoothly.  The telescopic handle doesn't pull out as easily anymore because I think it got bashed at the airport during handling.  And the color is like a red/black.  It's cool.  I love that I can spot my luggage pretty easily.  You'd think people would catch on and not have so much black or blue luggage.

Any other suggestions?

Magnum Ice Cream Bars

I suspect you've seen the commercials for these Magnum Ice Cream Bars, right?

At first, I wasn't sure if the name was the wisest choice because when I hear the word "magnum", I think of condoms.  But maybe that's just me.

I spotted them on sale at the local grocery store and had a coupon for them, which would make the box of 3 only $1.  I can sacrifice $1 in the name of "research", right?  Plus, they're ice cream bars.  It's pretty hard to screw those up.

This box is the Double Caramel.  So what makes a "Magnum" Double Caramel Ice Cream Bar?

According to the box, it's "Vanilla bean ice cream dipped in a chocolatey coating, caramel sauce and Belgian Mile Chocolate."  Sounds pretty good if you ask me.

When biting into the ice cream bar, if a big piece of the chocolate coating came along with it, I still had that inner layer of chocolate coating and that gooey caramel, that's between the layers, to go.  I have to say that the vanilla bean ice cream is creamy and really quite good.  The Belgian Chocolate is definitely better than just your basic milk chocolate.

I admit, I've gone thru two boxes of the Magnums this week.  My first box box was just the "Classic" and then of course the Double Caramel.  There are two other varieties -- Almond and Double Chocolate.

I'd have to say that the Magnum Ice Cream Bars are definitely better than your average ice cream bar.  I'd buy them again.

I totally suggest that you give them a try.

I think they're really good.  I just don't know if they're "pay full price" good.  That's just me though.

Hope In A Jar

One of my favorite products.  From Philosophy, this is their moisturizer, "Hope in a Jar".

I was a Proactiv Gentle Solution girl for years.  Yes, years.  I got tired of paying for those shipments and the products didn't seem to do much for me since I've gotten older and the time I generally break out really bad is right before my period, so it's more hormonal and I hear there isn't too much we can do about those.  Ahhh... the joys of being a woman.

I had heard so many wonderful things about Philosphy and thought I should give them a try.  Their fragrances are wonderful, their cleanser is great (it really cleans and my skin doesn't feel tight after I pat dry like some cleansers can leave the skin), so why not try the moisturizer, right?

This Original "Hope in a Jar" is meant for all skin types and doesn't have the SPF in it, like another formula.

It's not too thick to me and sinks into the skin without leaving it feel greasy, while the very light fragrance isn't overpowering in any way.  I also like that I don't have to use a lot to cover my face and neck.  I just dab my fingertip in and that's all I need.  I guess that dab is about the equivalent of just under a pea-size.

The jar you see in the picture is their mondo-sized 8oz. tub.  I just had to get it while it was on special on QVC, with their awesome EasyPay option.  EasyPay rocks!

I highly recommend you give "Hope in a Jar" a try.  There's a reason why it's voted one of the best by consumers and Beauty experts alike.  You can even buy the small travel-sized jar to test it out.  I even have one for travel of course.

Gym Grunters

When men lift weights at the gym, maybe grunt loudly helps them lift that big, bad weight.

But do they realize that it gets annoying after a while and it's certainly not a turn on?

Bowling shoes may not be the most attractive things, but I might not mind rockin' a pair of these out about town. :-p

Blunt

These were at the Cancun airport. Is it me or are warnings about smoking not this blunt in the States?

It definitely does get the point across.

Getting on a swing is a bit of happiness for me. It feels like I'm flying free and I'm back to childhood.
